Ground Control Camber plates!

Ok I thought I should let all of those people that were so interested in these camber plates know that it is possible. After much reading and talking with Ground Control I found out that it is possible to put their top mount plates on the minis. You have to purchase their generic 4 bolt pattern camber plate and then modify it a little. You will need to drill another hole in the top of the shock tower in order for these to work but I believe that a top mount is the best way to go for any purpose. I have attached some pics so that you know what I mean along with a link to the exact product. This accomplishes almost exactly what M7 is doing with their new Strut Re-enforcement Plate "SRP". Only now you have camber to go along with it. Just thought I would post my findings and discovery for all those who care. The camber plate does need to be dremeled out to make room for the arcs in the strut tower. Thanks guys, thought you might like to know!

Looks good, thanks for doing the work and sharing.
I like the idea of caster adjustment, but I would think that this project is a bit more difficult to set up as you need to find that somewhat neutral caster position during the installation. Also with the humps in the towers I'm wondering if a caster adjustment with these is even possible?
The link you gave us shows a different plate then what you have in your photos. They are not as thick.

Is that $299 for one plate or for one set of plates?

Onasled,
That is a good point about the thinkness regarding the camber plates. From what I understand they are the same but that is a good question for Ground Control that i did not ask. In regards to your thoughts on the camber I would think that with you now going CCA racing you would want these on your mini especially. But thanks for your input.

benthevegan,
I can tell you that the price that is shown is for a set not one.

Thanks guys

Well, at least we know nothing's changed in the last few years. The pictures you posted look like the ones put up several years back from the Grassroots car.

I too like the idea of a top-mount plate. I do not, however, think that you're reinforcing ANYTHING by bolting a plate to the top of a shock tower when the distorting force is coming from the bottom.

If I were going to try to reinforce it, it would either be from the bottom, or from the top with a welded plate.
