Many don't think they are needed

Might interfere with CAI if you have one or are getting one.
Could just be in the way when working under the bonnet.
B- bling factor

You also have to wonder how well it does its job. Some people will say you dont need one to strengthen things up... but if you are one of the believers then you really want to get a heavy duty brace that will actually do its job. The plates on that one look kinda weak, but the brace itself looks decent.

It looks a lot like the forge motorsport one. I have been told by some knowledgable people that the forge and the BMP are the two that really work. But I dont see the Forge logo on it, so who knows.

Thank you for replying but because of the price I may just order one and try it. See what happen next.

AC_MINI: I suggest don't get it cuz it's a waste of $$$. The hinged part gave it away that this brace is a piece of c**p. Use that ~$50 somewhere else worth spending on.

I have to absolutely agree with this post, though I see the purchase has already been made. I've seen this identical bar and it's nothing more then laughable. If you in fact feel any difference, it's all in your head, No offence, really.
I hope others will not follow and also get this bar. I hate to see crap like this being sold.
If it's the look you want, then for $50, go for it. Just don't open your hood in front of anyone who knows better though .....

there's nothing wrong w/ hinged ones, you must be drinking the kool-aid. I've had hinged and non-hinged on the same car and they both perform similarly. the only thing that doesn't look good is the feet, which look thin, but if the bolts haven't ripped through it, then I don't see a problem

Yea, that's a neverending argument. When's the last time you saw a hinged rollcage though?

no arguing there, but that's not a compelling reason against hinged strut bars. people have a hard enough time agreeing whether they do anything or not.
