Alta springs...anyone??

Does anyone have the Alta springs on their car? They have the drop that I want, but how do they compare to H-Sport? m7?
I'm not to crazy about colored springs,is there anything that can be done?

I have them onmy car, no issues with ride and can't see the springs from the street. I haven't ridden on M7 or H-S so can't offer opinion on them

Alta springs don't offer as much drop but do offer a fairly comfortable ride- see outmotoring.com and talk to them for an opinion.

M7 springs are also comfortable compared to other lowering springs and do offer a greater drop about 1.3" front and rear.

H-sport springs offer a 1" drop front and rear, are more for the performance minded and are not as comfortable for general street use. For autocross or track they offer the best overall solution.

I've got a brand new set of Alta Springs at my office but I can't bring myself to change them out - the M7 springs are Sooooooo nice!

I'm not really concerned with the ride quality as long as it's not too harsh,I just want the car to "sit" right(stance is everything).I just put on the 17" Webspokes that I got from Loki and the car just needs to come down a tad.
Actually the front is ok,but the back can come down about an inch (give or take).I'm surprised that there isn't a manufacturer that can wind a stock replacement spring that will lower this car in certain increments.

based on my ride and what you wrote above, well put.

for a view of what alta looks like on an 05, go to cooperspeed.com as my car is "hot ride of the month" and there are pics for you to see the 1"drop in rear and .5 in front

I have the Alta springs and 18" JCW wheels w/non-runflat tires on my 04 MCS. 95% of the time, the ride is about the same as the factory springs. I'm very happy with them!

Love em!

http://outmotoring.com/Project_Out_Motoring.html

great ride height, no rubbing, firm ride, not bouncy. Handles like a go cart (of course)....

I would seriously consider them, and the price is right..

OK, but what about reports of wearing out the shocks?

I have been thinking about putting in lowering springs for some time now. But after reading lots of threads, I concluded that lowering springs would wear out the stock shocks within 10K miles. I read this in a thread somewhere, and no I don't have a link....

Can anybody confirm or deny this? Do the stock shocks really wear out in 10K miles with lowering springs installed?
