POwerflex or a Super Pro

i am at a place where I can replace the front lower control arm bushings and have to make a choice. I bought Powerflex bushings but discovered that Super Pro makes the same thing supported by the metal casing -like the original.

Opinions and experiences would be appreciated. It’s nov 24, attacking this next week. Thanks, Dan Raabe

I've got pretty much everything Powerflex offers for the R56 and I have no complaints. Tried a few different lower motor mount bushing solutions before settling on theirs which reinforced the quality difference over other manufacturers. I know Way Motor Works is offering a discount on Powerflex products at the moment as well. The control arm bushings do have to be pressed so keep that in mind, Way also offers that service last I checked.

i was concerned that the POwerflex bushings are only loosely fit onto the brackets. The super pro looked sturdier and the only wear point would be the insert. Did you have th press the powerflex bushings into the brackets? Or is it just fit by hand?

They definitely do not fit loosely. And, as written in my last post which you quoted, "The control arm bushings do have to be pressed so keep that in mind, Way also offers that service last I checked."
All lower control arm bushings have to be pressed. Some vendors may sell them pre-pressed. I'm sure both will do the job. I have had good experiences with Powerflex and so I stick with them.

No one has ever complained about the
longevity of the Powerflex bushings AFAIK.

We had very very minor cracking on the powerflex control arm bushings after about 2 seasons on our old STX autocross car. Nothing that seemed to affect anything but poly bushings do degrade eventually. Ours never really got worse after a few more seasons so I never did anything about it. It really was a noticeable mod and definitely worth the parts cost of you've got the subframe lowered to replace them.

I installed my first set of Powerflex bushings back in 2003 and to this day I still haven't had one set of powerflex bushings fail or have issue so I recommend them over any other. The bushing is pressed into the bracket so it's not loose at all and isn't going to come loose. Also just in case you ever did have cracking or an issue powerflex has a lifetime warranty that would cover any failure.
Stick with your Powerflex and you won't have an issue.
And if you need them they are on sale for the best price they have ever been right now.
