RMW Single Adjustable Coilover Review

Hey all, just want to post a quick-ish review on RMW’s new single adjustable coilovers. First off, no, I'm not sponsored/endorsed in anyway by Jan, I just want to post a review on a product that I am very happy with. I’ve had them on the car for a couple weeks now and since the springs have settled, I can now post a review on my thoughts.

First impressions upon arrival were of how well packaged they came. Just like any big-name coilover, these units were packaged very nicely in a double-thick cardboard box and wrapped in copious amounts of bubble wrap. This prevents any surprises upon delivery and ensures you’re ready to install these puppies once you open the box, not call FedEx and submit a claim for damaged goods. Next thing you notice when you open the box is the quality of the coilovers themselves. Just by handling them, you can tell some thought and care went into the fit and finish of these and Jan chose a pretty cool colour scheme with the Black, Red and Gold.

Having never installed/adjusted coilovers before, Mike Bradley graciously spent over 30mins with me on the phone giving me valuable advice on how to set these up for their intended street/track use. I didn’t want to make them too soft for the track, but also not too stiff for the street… His advice was to dial in ¼” of spring preload and set the ride height ½” higher than planned to account for the springs settling. Jan also recommended setting the fronts to mid-stiff and the rears to mid +2 stiff settings. I followed the installation (straight forward and no surprises relative to any other coilover setup) up with an initial alignment where I dialed in -2 degrees of camber up front and 1/8” toe out. This was an initial alignment because I have some rear adjustable control arms in the mail that I will be installing before going for the final alignment.

Anyways, onto the important part of the review… The DRIVING. All I can say is, WOW! The car is completely transformed now. These coilovers, paired with full powerflex everywhere has turned the car from a go kart to a rail car! The responsiveness in the suspension now is unbelievable and very predictable. These coilovers have unlocked grip at speeds that would have previously sent me twirling into a guard rail (ask me how I know…). I’m actually not surprised at the high-speed cornering performance of these coils, because I’ve spent enough money on Jan’s products to know that he knows what he’s doing for go-fast parts.

However, what is most surprising with this setup is the compliance they have on the street. These don’t rattle your teeth out or send your head bouncing off the headliner when you go over a bump on the highway. The custom valving and spring rates truly work in harmony to deliver a package that is ACTUALLY fully competent on the street AND at the track (albeit, I still need to put these through their paces at the track this year).

All-in-all, I am very happy with this purchase and look forward to putting these through their paces over the years to come and see how they hold up! Another job well done RMW!

Nice write up. I’m waiting for a set for my F56 to arrive any day.

People really love them, the reviews are popping up everywhere and the results on the track are confirming it. Can't wait to test the double adjustables

1st and 2nd gen are currently $1800 for street/track version
$2000 for custom valved

2 way adjustable with external reservoirs are $3500
I believe them to be the best out there in double adjustables
