Strut / wheel clearance question

Hello everyone,

Just checking to see what you all think is good clearance between the wheel and strut.
Stock JCW Struts
Vorshlag Camber plates
17" Wheels running 225/45/17 Hankook Ventus R-S3
Seems to be about 3mm of clearance between the top edge of tire and strut.
Is that enough OR should I think of adding 3mm or 5mm spacers?

Thanks in advance

I think I remember seeing something on Tire Rack's site about a minimum of 5 mm clearance. I know I've seen that same number elsewhere as well, I think KW as well.

I have some 16x8, +42 wheels that with out the tire only clear on the side to the strut by 2 mm and I have never had a problem with them. I have run both a 205/50 and a 215/45 with no problem. The 215's side wall only cleared by 2 mm , so a 225 would not work for me in front with out spacers.
