Any opinions on Bilstein B12 Suspension Kit?

Ok, I purchased my 05 Mini last summer and the car came with some form of lowering springs. I don't have a clue what they are, but the car doesn't ride great and I have a feeling that the stock shocks are just about done.

I was thinking of installing Koni sports this spring, but I've come across this kit kit at ECS tuning which includes springs and Bilstein shocks (which I have experience with during my miata days and loved them.)

So does anyone have any experience with this spring/shock combo? I've searched and I can't really find anything. I don't want to go the coilover route, for both $ and potentially too harsh of a ride.

Thanks for the feedback

Most people really like them with the Eibach and HD style shocks. You don't have to adjust them and set for about 30mm front and rear lower. Nice ride and smooth yet responsive.

Some gen 2 MINI people like them.

Bumping this thread up anyone else using this kit? How's the install? Seems like folks have issues sometimes with the Konis - any easier to install these?

I'm also very interested in more info about these. I don't track my car, but it is usually my DD during the Summer. It was either these, or a budget route of Staggs and Vogtlands.

I have this installed on my 2005 R53, worked really well with my other suspension mods, the lowered height (1.2" i think) was not drastic since I previously had a JCW suspension setup.

The ride is stiff but not jarring, but then I run 16s; may be different with 17s. It seems chattery on the rough pavement.
My wife says its much better than the JCW suspension tho (go figure).
I have not noticed any sag and it has been installed for 6 months now.

You may want to also invest in rear adjustable camber links (control arms).

My suspension mods are:
B12 suspension kit
Madness lower stress brace
JCW Strut tower brace
Madness tower defenders
M7 mid and forward brace
H-Sport rear adjustable sway bar
H-Sport rear camber links (lower)
Cabrio cross brace
Powerflex Bushings here and there

How she sits
