Suspension M7 Chassis braces...
M7 Chassis braces...
I took advantage of the cyber Monday sales and parked out the money for the M7 states to chassis brace set, just got my email today letting me know that they shipped out very excited to install these bad boys, anyone else on here I took advantage of the cyber Monday sales and parked out the money for the M7 states to chassis brace set, just got my email today letting me know that they shipped out very excited to install these bad boys, anyone else on here have them? What came in the set up is the rear brace and the lower chassis brace. Just want to see if anyone has any input on these items and what type of differences they made and how are they were to install. Thanks.
UPDATE: just a FYI shipping was fast and luckily a friend has a friend that allowed us to use his tow company's garage, it was closed and we had the WHOLE PLACE to ourselves! And thank god the place had a lift I can't imagine doing this job without a lift... It would be possible but would make life difficult.
Any way it COULD have been a simple job but the center under brace was off by a few centimeters and we had to drill through it just make it fit so the bolt it came with would thread... And the front bar right spacer was the same way so it had to be drilled... Also the tunnels on the spacer was to narrow for the upper part of the Oem bolt that you use so we had to trim it down with a grinder... It was all easy to fix and work around... BECAUSE WE HAD A VAST ARRAY OF TOOLS to saved us... Had I done this job at home it would not have worked period :/
I will email them and let them know about my troubles and see how that goes it's all installed and working great so I'm not mad or anything just want to let them know.
Ok now... Do they make a difference? Yes! Is it a huge difference? No. Was it worth it? Yes! The car feels more tight and composed around high speed bends more planted and predictable. Turn in is a lot more sharp and it changes directions quicker on snake sections of the canyons that I drive.
Another FYI don't go too low if you want to run these bars!!! My car isn't that low it's what I call functionally stanced for canyons and during hard driving if I go over a crest and there is a slight uphill right after the crest I have to brake for the suspension loads up and it scrapes the bolts on the front brace... It sounds sooooo bad but it sparks like a old F1 car and looks pretty cool according to onlookers I will raise my car half a inch to hopefully get rid of this issue.
If I have anymore updates I will post it.
And my apologies ahead of time for my lack of car vocabulary I just enjoy driving really hard I am not a mechanic I am OK when it comes to modifying and working on vehicles nowhere near where I'm sure most of you are just doing my best to give a heads up in case someone is looking to buy this set of chassis braces thank you.

Oh and one more thing if you have a aftermarket exhaust with a cat you might have fitment issues because the OEM secondary cat almost touches the brace. Just something to keep in mind if you are thinking about purchasing this item.
Check out our X brace if you end up taking it off. We have removed several due to rattling or them just coming apart. The nut inserts that go into the body are easy to pull out.
