ST Coilovers

Im about to install some coilovers and as far as adjusting the height do I compare it to the stock struts and go from there? For instance if the stock strut was 15" and I want to lower an inch set the coilovers at 14". It has been a few years since I've installed coilovers but from what I recall thats how I did it. Also, to adjust the height I'm guessing we have to jack up the car correct? Sorry for the noob questions.

For adjustment, usually I set them and then if the car sits too high or low - measure the distance from the ground to the top of the wheel arch, put the car back up, take the wheels off and then there are adjustment wrenches you use to thread the spring perch up or down depending on if you want to go higher or lower. Usually I wait a little so that the springs settle as it will change a bit.
