Suspension JCW Suspension Ordering Question
JCW Suspension Ordering Question
I have a 2012 JCW. At the time I did not install the JCW Sport Suspension package (with the red springs).
I have however put in an H-Sport Rear Sway Bar.
I now want to put on the JCW Red Springs, and the Front Sway bar that Mini designed with the kit. But I do not want the Rear Sway Bar or the McPherson Shocks. Planning to put some HVT or Koni's in to replace the shocks.
Can I order these pieces individually? Is it best to go to dealer or does someone offer these original OEM parts for a better deal? I need to stick with these OEM JCW Springs, and the Mini Front Bar, so that I can keep the car Street Legal in D-Street for SCCA. Finally is there a tool I can search on my own with my VIN to get the exact Red Spring weights or does Mini have to look that up?

I would reach out to a company that supports this site, like ECS tuning or Way Motor Works (or some of the others). Many of these companies have access to the factory parts, and will get you better prices than your local dealer. There are also dealers that are on here at a discount, like Sewell and minipartsmass.com
Have fun,

I would go the JCW suspension all the way around. Its lower then stock and firm but not too harsh. Don't know for D street if you can mix stock option with koni or aftermarket, i remember people don't lower with koni fsd because they can leak over time. So not recommended. So double check on that.
PM me with VIN and I can get you the JCW red springs. Its internal , so no quick tool for everyone on the internet.

You should be able to order pieces individually. It looks like the 23.5mm front swaybar is part # 31356772753. I'd call ECS Tuning though and order it through them. They should be able to help you figure out which swaybar/springs you need and get them ordered.

The shocks and one of the swaybars can be replaced in D Street. This means that if you're upgrading to the JCW suspension package that you still have to install the JCW front swaybar (which is a pain) and front and rear JCW springs. The shocks and rear bar can be swapped out per the rules.
Thanks for all the help on this guys, and to the ECS Tuning representative that responded, I will PM you directly with VIN and we can talk further offline. Appreciate the quick help.

A MINI dealer would have to look up the springs for your car based off the vin. Their system takes into account the options installed at the factory and gets the correct part numbers. RealOEM is usually your friend but is not accurate for somethings since it does't have access to BMW/MINI for the options installed on the car.
We do it.

Then if you wanted later you could swap an additional bar out and still say all legal for DS? Sweet. Who are you v10climber?? I think for my R58 I am going to do the full JCW kit for a while then swap out other bits later on if I really need it.
