Megan Coilover Questions

Hey guys, i was looking into the megan racing coilovers. the ones with the adjustable camber plates and the 32 way dampning changes.

i hear these ride fairly well, which isnt too much of an issue

i am rubbing in the rear right now and i want to go lower in the summer, and higher in the winter, since this is my DD. i forget the offset on my ultraleggeras off hand. but im running the 17x7 with 215 45, and i run when i hit good bumps. Getting annoying at this point haha, my 205 KDW's did not rub but were fairly worn, im thinking as i wear these HTZ 3s down ill rub less. i also thing my shocks are in the beginning stages of failing.

i was curious on how these last throughout winters. i was considering a spring and shock combo, but i would really enjoy the height adjustablility since i am in new england.

i would take care of them, slather them up with anti seize all throught the threads and clean them in the spring, i also hit car washes about every month or 3 weeks in the winter depending on the weather to help keep the salt off the car.

so if anyone could chime in about their life with megans in the winter, that would be great or any other coils in the winter

I have the Megan Euro Street's and haven't had one complaint yet. I use them pretty much all the way down in the summer and it still rides pretty great considering I have all solid bushings and mildly stretched tires.

In the winter I raise it up about an inch and put on normal tires and it rides great..

Mechanically they are great. I have adjusted them probably a dozen times since buying them and they still work fine. I put anti seize on when I got them and they still feel great to this day when lowering or raising them.

I would suggest not messing with the preload though. I added about an 1/2" of preload and the ride became terrible. Leave them the way they come. For the dampening, I have mine at 8 clicks off the softest setting and it does great, best compromise between comfort and stability.

For the price, I don't think you can do any better.

I have the megan racing coil-overs, They're great… the ride adjustabilty Is a nice feature… But the camber-plate adjustment is tough, cause the adjustment bolts sit just under the "lip" of the "strut top" If you know what i mean, very hard to reach.. We don't have winters here…Thought this would be good info nevertheless… Since your gonna be going "up and down" the camber is gonna change.. Like i said, tough to adjust..

i appretiate this knowledge, and your doing exactly what i was thinking of doing.

i have yet to hear anything bad about these coilovers other than being non brand name, but megan is becoming their own name. i was planning on lathering everything in anti seize or bearing grease. so i feel like ill be able to work with these thanks.

good to know about the camber adjustment, ima try to get an alignment every time i change wheels from winter to summers, so im sure i could just change to the appropriate hieght
