so i picked up some free ast coilovers off a local mini guy. AWESOME DEAL but they do need some TLC. i've talked to AST and a suspension shop who will be doing some repairs to them but no one can find replacement lower shock bushings for the rear coilovers. AST told me that they no longer carry them in stock because the coils are about 5 years old. both of the bushings i currently have have slight cracks and one is missing the metal sleeve insert piece. honestly if i could just get a new "sleeve" these coils would be fine to run. just figured i'd replace the whole bushing all together and if i have to buy one side might as well replace the other too.

hopefully someone knows someone who makes these bushings and sleeves. maybe can help me out with finding a custom set that'll work with this application?

heres a picture of the bushings, notice the one has the metal sleeve the other doesn't. the cracks are small so you cant really see them in the picture. these are very nice coilovers, really hoping i can bring them back to good as new.

 

Easiest would be to just have a machine shop use the original one for a pattern and turn you out 2 new ones.

Might be more expensive but less time spent finding something that might work for ya.

 

okay cool ill see if i can find a place around here to do that. I'm still gonna look for the actual bushings as well but that's a start.
