Suspension Camber plates or Strut defenders.
Camber plates or Strut defenders.
Ok so, My 06MCS has one strut tower that is mushroomed. I plan on keeping the car till the wheels fall off then rebuild and keep going. What is the better long term solution camber plates or just putting on strut tower reinforcement plates. I have narrowed it down to Hsport camber plates or the ? strut tower protectors. Any opinions on either. May take up auto crossing in the future but mostly spirited commuting for now.
I went with the H-Sport adjustable camber plates for a few reasons.
1. Adjustable camber.
2. Thick plate to prevent mushrooming.
3. Rubber bushing removed so no more cracked/torn bushing.
4. Do not raise the height of the front.
Disadvantages are:
1. Expensive.
2. Metal bearing/bushing adds a little noise/feel.
3. Bearning needs to be lubed every once and a while or it will clunk.
Another good option is the IE Fixed Camber plates because they have a thicker top plate and rubber bushing than OEM. However they do raise the front about 3/16".
