Suspension Shopping List..

Hi! I'm new at this.. so I have a simple question. I use my 2009 mini cooper S only as a daily driver.

I decided to go with the ST Coilovers with H-Sport Rear Camber Links.

Do I need anything else that is necessary?

Thanks!

You may need spacers depending on wheel offset, and a rear sway bar is a good bang for the buck suspension mod while youre at it. I have st coilovers waiting to be installed, got them from the suspension source. will be getting 5 millimeter spacers from euro sport design and doing the install in the spring.

Yes depending on your wheel and tire combo you may need wheel spacers. Also while your doing it you should install a rear sway bar if you don't already have one.

Why would you need spacers? Because the springs are different sizes (outer diameter)?

You need the wheel spacers to kick the wheel away from the coilover body. I am running a Thanksgiving special. $75 off ST coilovers.

Speaking of rear sway bars...I may have mine installed professionally at the same time my coilovers go on.
What are people paying to have this done? Either sway bar and coilover together, or individually.

I seem to be getting some doughnuts and cokes when i installed his suspension (s). But that's a good deal for him...lol After all he's a good friend and I like doing it.

But figure about 5 hours of shop time. The rear bar only takes about a 1/2 hour if you are doing rear shocks at the same time.

Drop rear subframe, unbolt bar remove, wiggle new bar in and bolt it up.

My garage is always open to fellow mini owners. Our local club just had a tech day at a garage with a lift and quite a few members installed various suspension mods that day. I've done coil overs and sway bars in my garage no problem.

Not a dumb question, it took me awhile to figure this one out Apparently you only need spacers on the front. I'm going to get them all around just so everything is even on all four corners, and on the off chance I'm being misinformed about what's necessary.

Got mine for all 4 corners as well. I didn't want a difference stance from front to back.

I don't think anybody's going to be able to tell. If you're lowering, you need to tuck as much as possible anyway to prevent tire rub on the wheel arch.
