Will these fit?

Hi peeps

I'm an avid forum member on other sites, just discovered this forum!

Does anyone know if the following will fit/work on a JCW R56

Kw V1's - R105's ET52 with 5mm spacers, 215/35/18 tyres

Can anyone for see fitting/lowering problems?

Thanks!

In short, yes. I was looking at a similar setup but opted to go with a 215/40 as the tire I wanted didn't come in the 215/35. The 35 series is going to be pretty unforgiving on the 18" 105s though.

You "may" need a larger spacer on the front to clear the strut, others with the KW K1 need to chime in. You'll need a minimum of the 5mm to clear the brakes with the 105s though (which is what I have on the car now).

Thanks for the quick reply. That's precisely why I got the spacers as I knew the R105's wouldn't clear the calipers without...

But am I going to need alloys with lower ET, as I'm not keen on massive spacers...

I too wasn't a fan of using spacers and it makes me mental that MINI offers a JCW wheel that doesn't fit a JCW car. Regardless, once I saw how the 5mm spacer worked with the wheels and brakes it didn't bother me as much. You still have the hub to center the wheel.

Personally I'd also recommend longer wheel bolts as well. I've read mixed things on NAM on this topic (some do it, some don't) however to me this is cheap insurance so I don't know why you wouldn't.

Are you saying the above set-up will fit?

Already got longer bolts trying to do this by the book..

You'll clear the brakes. I don't think you'll have any issues with the struts but would want to ask someone running the K1 to be sure. With the 5mm spacer your 105s are essentially an ET47 versus a 52 (if I remember correctly).

You are correct sir!

Thanks a lot, hopefully someone with V1's can clarify for peace of mind...
