Rear Shock Travel Measrurement

For those who removed your R55 / R56 / R57 OEM suspension, could you pull a measurement?
I'm looking for the rear shock piston travel.
To determine, compress the shock fully and mark the line on the piston shaft next to the shock sleave.
Then expand the shock to it's fully topped-out; then with a tape measure, measure the line you marked to the shock sleave.
If you could be within a 1/16" accuracy it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, denote what platform you have along if you know its the regular or 'sport' suspension option from factory.

Bumping this; just need 5 minutes of time from anyone who has the OEM rear struts removed from their vehicle.

I have a set of OTS Koni Sports off the car right now. From what I have read, the dimensions of the rear Koni are identical to the OEM dampers... however, I do not know if that is 100% true.

I already have all the dimensions of the front and rear Konis recorded; body/shaft diameter, body/shaft length, stroke, compressed/extended lengths, etc, etc, etc. The info is at home (@ work currently), if it would be of any help to you just let me know.

James, appreciate it; however, still looking for OEM data first.
Seems like you and I are in the same boat according to your motion ratio thread...

I have OEM R53 rears off the car at home. Probably the same as R56, but don't know for sure. I do not have the bumpstops though in case you wanted their length too.

James, you should post the info when you get a chance. A thread with measurements on bump travel at normal ride height, with and without the bumpstops would be valuable as well as the true motion ratio data.

It's 125mm. Stock sport suspension off my JCW. If you need it to be highly accurate, I'll get back to you tomorrow?

For clarification, that's the full stroke of the rear shock without a bump stop? Thanks!

I measured 4.675" of stroke on my standard Koni Sports... or ~120mm from fully extended to collapsed.

my rear shock travel to date is 159,988.208843 miles.

approximately.

kind regards,

Charlie

(bear with me, I seem to be in an odd mood this evening - but the Bilsteins that accompanied the H&R coil-overs are indeed remarkably durable)
