Suspension Front Passenger Squeak?
Front Passenger Squeak?
I recently had new tires, wheels, and a rear sway bar installed. I noticed a squeaking the next day when driving over particularly rough roads. I assumed that the sway bar had not been greased enough. I took it back to the shop and they looked at it, confirmed that it was well lubricated, and took it for a spin to try to duplicate the issue. The tech said there was a squeak but it sounded like it was coming from the front passenger corner somewhere.
After hearing it a few more times it seems like he's right. Does anyone know what this might be? It was not an issue before I had the work done. This shop has been a bit of a nightmare to deal with and I really do not want to take my car there again.
It is generally only on very poor roads when the suspension is under load. It's somewhat intermittent as well.

check to make sure your lugs are tight. i had a wierd noise under braking that turned out to just be one loose lug. if thats not it, check your front strut bolts, make sure none of the studs that go into the top-hat have sheared, i've heard of this happening. check your sub-frame bolts, ball joints, and the condition of your front sway bar bushings. these are a likely culprit.
Thanks for the reply. Other than the lugs, do you know what would have been adjusted/loosened during installation of wheels, hub rings, tires, and a rear sway bar? I'd like to narrow it down before I take it in, I don't want to get stuck paying for an exploratory diagnostic with these guys.
I don't think anything in the front of the car besides the lugs would have been touched during this install. If you're comfortable with it, just check the lu8gs and top hat nuts on your own, it's not even necissary to jack up the car, just take your lug wrench to the lugs, check if they're tight, and a 10mm (if i remember correctly) wrench to the top hat nuts, which are at either side of the car under the hood, there's three on each side. let me know what happens. or bring it to them and demand that they figure it out due to it only happening after they worked on the car...
