People running Mach V springs

how long have you had them and how is your ride?

I've had my Mach V's on stock shocks for almost 50k miles now...and I'm getting to the point where the ride is unbearable! I have no problem with stiff...but how they ride is redic, so horrible/jarring. Granted, I'm sure the shocks are done, seeing as I installed the springs the week I got the car when it was new...but just curious if anyone else has had them as long as me and what your thoughts were!

I forecast KW coilovers in my future

Had them for about 30k miles now. Swapped to bilstein HD's about 5k ago. Was on stock shocks till that point. They're harsh for sure. Better with the HD's, but still harsh. I just drove a S loaner for 2.5 weeks and the mini's are definitely "stiff" when stock, but much more bearable. Got back in my car last night (in boston btw, where roads are terrible, esp this time of year), and it was veryy bumpy compared to stock.
I actually like how it handles at stock, its just the ride height thats been killing me. CO's would be very nice, but ride will still be stiff fyi, of course depending on which ones u go with. KW V2's allow damping adjustability, but thats only going to do so much. It depends more on the springs/spring rate. Everyone raves about the NM springs, and says its better riding than stock, but to me its not really worth it at this point to buy $250 springs, pull apart my suspension again, and pay for another alignment and not be sure how much better its going to be, all while raising the car another 0.05 inch (yes i'm nitpicking because the bilstein HD's already raised up my car, ugh).

This is why i'm also like I should just go CO's if anything at this point.
/rant+some info for you hopefully

Yea agreed...I love the height that the Mach V's sit. I couldn't stand the stock height, hence why I put them on the week I got the car lol. I think they have got to be the lowest available...

I have no idea how that stupid front air dam is even on the car anymore, scrapes EVVVVERYTHING.

And like I said, I don't mind stiff...but there is a difference between properly dampened stiff and the stiff that I have with these springs. It's very jarring...and feels like the suspension is made of concrete, lol.

And I agree everyone raves about the NM springs, but its not worth it to switch springs, especially when like you said, they are higher. Plus my shocks have got to be shot, so I'd have to replace them as well. I'll just get some c/o's in a few months

I'm glad you joined the forum just to tell us that! There's no chance they're yours, is there?

Thump-- after riding on my winter wheels (yes we have snow here ) for about 5 months, I'm back to summers. I put on my HDs in sept or oct, and switched to winter wheels in nov. The ride height was raised and still stiff w the Mach v and hd combo. However, putting the summers bk on now the car sits lower as it did before I had the HDs in...AND the ride is more comfortable now! I think the shocks may have settled in or something... And I must not have noticed w the bald run flat snow tires i had on. Lol thought I'd update ya.

Erik
