suspension problem NEED HELP FAST!!

i ordered a set of springs from way motor works 2 weeks ago. these are the springs http://www.waymotorworks.com/product...cat=307&page=1. i go to try to install them today and i ran into a problem, the front springs do not fit inside the top of the strut cap (i guess thats what its called) where the rubber grips the spring to hold it in place. the bottom part fits no problem and the rear springs fit like a glove. am i missing something here or did i just get sent the wrong springs? ill try to post some pics in a few mins.

Was your R50 built before 3/1/2002? The earlier MINIs had a different strut cap.

There should be a sticker or plate on the car with the month and year it was built.
Mine has a sticker on the driver side door jamb which says 3/03 on it for March 2003.

Five shock characteristics shown in the photo reveal it is post 3/2002, the diameter of the threaded shaft, the shape of the hat, bump stop, dust boot, and the attachment point for the stabilizer link.

Not sure what the deal is then. It looks like Way only has one version of
those springs listed, so I'm thinking it's unlikely they sent an early (pre 3/02)
version to you by mistake, but i guess that's possible, especially if perhaps you told them you
had an '02 ... or, maybe they just sent the wrong springs altogether.
Are the numbers on the front springs 195-10-50-001 like they are in the picture in your link?

Have you had a chance to talk to them yet? It looks like that's the next step.

yeah way sent me a pm yesterday and said that he would be trying a set on a R50 strut today to see if he got the same result. and yes the numbers on mine are the same as the ones in the pics. i guess all i can do is wait for a response. anyone know where i can get the caps from just in case?
