Sway Bars
The first suspension modification we recommend is a stiffer rear sway bar. In short a sway bar upgrade will keep the car flatter during a corner allowing the tires to use all their grip to get you around the corner. Sway bars are also used to "tune" the handling of your MINI, your car is set up from the factory to under steer quite a bit. Fit a stiffer rear sway bar and you will reduce the under steer to a near neutral set up, perfect. ALTA sway bars have multiple end link mounting positions to allow for fine tuning of the bars effectiveness. End Links
Sway Bar End Links connect the end of the sway bar to an unsprung point of the suspension (usually the control arms, spindle or lower shock/strut body) transmitting the sway bars force to the suspension. OEM end links are designed "just enough" for weak OEM sway bars. Add a larger, stronger & stiffer aftermarket sway bar and the OEM end links will not hold up. Depending on the link they will, bend (reducing the sway bar effectiveness) or brake! (eliminating the sway bars effectiveness). In short, if you up grade your sway bars, up grade your end links.

P.S.R.S. - Positive Steering Response System
The MINI has very minimal adjustments to the front suspension, toe in or out only. ALTA has seen tremendous benefits from changing the levels of caster in the front. This increase in caster allows sharper more precise response from steering input. Decreases understeer and improves overall feel.

Also, the OEM lower control arm bushings supplied from MINI are a very gooey like rubber compound. While great to reduce road noise, they are miserable at improving handling. As a result even the most minor of imperfections in the road surface can cause the car to dart around. The ALTA PSRS uses a firm bearing material that prevents this. This inspires confidence in all driving conditions, and again adds positive steering response.

Adjustable Rear Control Arms
ALTA Performance adjustable control arms are a great way to improve the handling of your MINI Cooper by adding strength, adjustability and reducing weight.

Our control arms are threaded to accept huge aircraft quality, Nylon impregnated, heim joint rod ends. This eliminates unnecessary welding and extra pieces, further increasing strength and allow for camber adjustment and smoother more accurate articulation.

The stamped factory control arms have soft rubber bushings pressed in both ends. While an acceptable choice for the street, they are not ideal for performance minded driving. ALTA adjustable control arms solve all of those problems with minimal increased noise, harshness or vibration (NVH) associated with other adjustable control arms.

Two sets of arms can be purchased to replace both upper and lower rear control arms. This can further increase rear end adjustment, remove even more deflection from the OEM rubber bushings and reduce weight even more.

The factory has simply let us all down (or should I say UP) with the stock ride height of our MINIs. The way it should have been is about 1.5" lower! These are an excellent compliment to your MINI! German made, lifetime warranty, easy to install. What more do you want?

This is an extremely nice upgrade to the car. Removes the excessive wheel gap and lowers the roll center. Improves steering response as well as the visual impact. Ride quality is improved over stock in most all situations.
