coilovers on 8 inch wide wheels?

so i just got some 18x8 45et wheels on my mini, next up i want to get some coilovers...but since the rims are close to the struts i was wondering if coilovers would work, or would i need to get bigger spacers???

thanks
-Fred

You should check out my car sometimes. We live pretty close by. I needed to run spaces in order for my tires not to rub my struts. My wheels are 7 inch wide so it still looks nicely tucked under the wheel well. A 8inch wheel might stick out a bit. With coil overs and a good drop up front, my wheel sometimes scrapes the inside of my hood under hard cornering, and the rears scrape over some bumps due to having soft springs/dampening.
