Unichip and M7 STB, can't fit both at same time. Help, please. Thanks.

I have the Unichip (with updated harness) and the M7 Strut Tower Brace (that attaches to the Strut Tower Reinforcement Plates) and I can't get them both to fit at the same time. The computer and unichip harness are too high, by about a 1/4". I tried shoving it, but that would was putting so much pressure right on the wires of the harness and didn't get me anywhere near close enough. I was going to shim the brace higher, but I don't have enough clearance under the hood for that. So here are some questions:

1) Has anyone else tried this combo? Did you have any fitment issues?
2) Anyone got any tips on moving the computer bracket lower?
3) Maybe a different STB that would work better?
4) If I did shim the brace to raise it, would that lower the effectiveness?
5) IF you had to choose one (Unichip or STB) which would you pick?

In a quick call to Alta, I was told that they should be fine. But I can't see how. Can anyone from Alta chime in? Adam?

Sorry if this has been answered, but I couldn't find it. The terms unichip and stb gave way too many results. I'm really hoping the collective genius of the board comes through with some answers.

Thanks,
Mike

As long as the unichip is working correctly it would be a no-brainer choice as to which one to keep.

Yeah, I'm running the Unichip now and left the STB off. It's just a shame to have the part and not use it. To tell you the truth, I don't really notice the missing STB. That front end seems mighty tight as it is.

Scott48, you have both the Unichip and the JCW STB?
