KONI suspension kit... Anyone have this ?

Just wondering if anyone with a R53 have this kit. Its on clearence from TireRack and seems like a good deal !

One MINI owner mentions something about modifying the strut perch or something to that nature. ???

That's a good price, but I'd look into pairing the Koni shocks with the TXSpeedworks springs instead. Detroit Tuned has the Koni on sale and you can pick up the TXS springs at several places. I haven't notices them on sale anywhere but YMMV.

You do need to drill out the rear top mounts for the Koni shock shaft, which is larger than the OEM. It's easy though especially if you already have access to a good drill. Mine died on me so I borrowed a neighbors for about 10 minutes

Thanks for the insight !

Problem is, if you were to buy the KONIs sperately, they would cost way More than this kit ! If anything i could buy the kit and sell the springs if i dont like them.

Looks like DT has the shocks for $100 lass than the kit at TR.

But your right, if you could sell the NIB springs for a couple bills, you could end up with a nice package (Yellows/TXv2s) for ~$800.

Koni sports kit

I think I purchased the set for about the same price a year ago. The struts firms up the ride with adjustability. The springs seem about the same as the h-sports that I used to have which were progressive. Lowers about 1in on all four corners.
