Suspension ...mini problems get worse...
...they said no power...funny...bad alternator, bad PS pump - the fan is being replaced for goofs and giggles and a blown 100amp fuse which also fires the HK radio...I don't understand the pathway...maybe the car was truke by lightning while I was driving
Well, like I said before, the alt and the PS pump are wired together in a way. Not sure why the radio has any tie into the 100 amp fuse as that is for the PS pump only.
It could have been that the pump siezed and somehow damaged the alt, but I find that very unlikely as the yellow wire is fused, as is the PS pump itself.
Not sure that this all makes sence. If the 100 amp fuse was not replaced then how did they know the pump was bad?
Let me get my tech in on this and see what he thinks. He may set me straight for all I know.

I think I blew the fuse
...when I borrowed a battery to check the alternator I inadvertantly connected pos to neg and neg to pos. The battery layouts are the same, it was dark, I was tired. It was a very quick tap, I saw a spark and pulled back...the spark actually jumped before I could get the cable on the battery stud. I had I installed in the reverse I would have caught my mistake since the size of the battery studs would have been reversed in my install order.
The car has a much better on-center feel now. Friday the thermostat, wheel bearing, clean the air filter, clean the inside of the IC and I'm basically set for winter - alignment next week.
