I think so. DSC is a safety feature that has proved to be more effective at reducing accidents than anti-lock breaks.

There was an interesting video posted in one of the DSC threads in the Coupe section where a skilled driver tried navigating a 70 mph accident avoidance course on a frozen lake. It was now with a MINI, but a car with a similar system (they call it ESP). Without ESP he could not avoid the barrier (Styrofoam, IIRC). With it he could.

If it helps you avoid an accident just once, it has more than paid for itself.

You have no choice. All Clubman's come with DSC, like it or not. There is an off switch included.

Shows up as a $500 option when I filled out the "build it" - could be it comes with one of the packages though.

I could have sworn it was an included. OK, I just looked on the MINI USA site & it is listed as an active saftey feature. I do think it is standard.

if you want safety go for it.. although it sounds like it may already be included which is a good thing since you can turn it off anyway...

DSC included ?

Perhaps the dealer was just trying to get an extra $500 - I have not placed the order just submitted the 'build list' and the dealer suggested I might want to add DSC $500, xenons $500, arm rest $250 & automatic headlights $250.

All I had added from the base was: S/R $1000, alarm $500 & MF streeing wheel $250.

From the posts above sounds like I can leave it off and it will come STD like the radio, A/C, etc.

Thanks for all your comments.

I spoke with the sales manager. Apparently the sales associate was incorrect in quoting me $500 add'l for DSC on the Clubman. Sales mgr. says STD on the Clubman but optional on the Coupe.
