LOWERING QUESTIONS

Hi there,

So I'm so close to ordering my springs but I just want some more opinions if you would:

06 Cooper on 18" MOTEGI DP with TOYO 215/40/ZR 18 (Proxies 4)

I'm deciding between the following 3 and I'm only doing springs:

1. M7
2. H-Sport
3. TSW

If anyone has any experience with these springs or can make comments or recomendations, please do!

All three are great springs in their own right, just depends on what you want and how low you want to go. If you want about a 1" drop all the way around and a linear rate then go with the TSW's as I did... Note: Much lower than that and you will need adjustable control arms for proper alignment.

if you're not planning to do rear swaybar any time soon, get the linear
rate.. ie: tsw.

Linear springs (TSW) give you a quicker response than progressive springs.

One of our club members had M7 springs and recently switched to TSW springs. He likes them a lot better. He gets quicker response and the car handles better.

I have some TSW springs and I'm very happy with them.

Whatever springs you get make sure you put 400-500 miles on the car before you get an alignment. The alignment settings will change if you put on the springs and go get alignment right after that. You will have different settings after the springs settle.

+3. TSW Springs give a little more drop than JCW with stiffer springs and linear spring rates. Can't beat them for the price either .

I Like the H-Sports good Agressive looking drop but not too Low. I was actually looking at the TSW as well but got a good deal on the H-Sports. Personally as much as I love the H-sports I think the TSW are also very nice. I did the rear sway bar the same time I did the springs (same week actually). So I couldn't tell you how much of a difference the springs made.

I like the h-sports, I just found them to be too soft for me. The car had more body roll than stock, and had an odd bounce to it. They were also pretty harsh driving in LA.

Drop difference is only about .2 inches between the TSW springs and the h-sports. Worth it in my mind to get linear springs .

I have the Altas and highly recommend them. No alignment necessary after installation.

I'm with you on the whole body roll. My car's body roll seemed to increase with the H-Sports. However, the ride is not bouncy at all, in fact the opposite, car rides like its on coils. And it's definitely not harsh, smoother than stock.
