strut mounts

my strut mounts are cracked and need to be replaced. is there a better aftermarket version than buying them from mini? also, should i install camber plates and a brace when i replace these mounts? i don't want this problem to happen again and i wouldn't mind beefing up my suspension.

I recomend Ireland Engineering adjustable camber plates. There is no rubber to tear, you can even-out/set your camber, and they are anti-mushrooming.

A strut brace...there is much debate whether this does anything worthwhile, or if its for show. The cars are so rigid already. Also the braces can block access to the oil filter, airbox, coolant tank, powersteering tank, they can raise the hood up and they add weight.

where in nebraska do you live? im in lincoln

One of my shock towers was mushroomed (one of the reasons i bought these). I had the work done at Graham Tire. I didn't have the proper tools to disassemble the front end. You may need a spring compressor and some airtools. And they have repaired mushrooming on many cars before.

If you have that stuff I could help anyday this week or weekend. Ive done everything else on my car myself except the brakes (done at Midas for safety reasons) and clutch (lack of engine hoist), so i know my way around these cars.
