I'd guess that you springs are most likely OK, but I'm sure you need struts in front & rear. There are aftermarket alternatives or you can watch the marketplace forum here & snag a set of take-off new ones.

ok. thanks for that. what do you think of the oem struts. i have h sports springs, rear control arms and bar but i honestly haven't thought about struts...
i think that the handling of the oem shocks is pretty good. your opinion?

Vocabulary...

the strut is the shock on a Mini, it's defines the suspension geometry and carries the load of the front. A Shock typically is just a dampener and carries no load.

For most conversations, you can use the phrases interchangably.

But with that kind of mileage on the car, that's where you should be looking. "Tired" springs sag.... Also, make sure that your front control arm bushings arn't shot either.

All I have experience with are stock springs & shocks. The only modification is a 19mm H-Sort rear swaybar. For me they work great. My criteria to be happy is a good ride & enough ground clearance to get clear a dead ground hog without dragging.

Since you have lowering springs there may be a better shock out there for you. I'm sure someone will chime in with that info.
