Wiper issues - help neede

Hi. This is my first post on this site, so play nice. I have previously posted this problem on another site (MIN2.com) but have had no response so I thought I would try here.

Has anyone else had the following problems with their front wipers?

They don't seem to be parking correctly at the bottom of the windscreen from time to time - they go down then start to come back up slightly, where they sit about an inch higher tan they should.

Also, when you flick the lever down for a single wipe, it often does 2 or 3 wipes. It does this on intermittent wipe too, sometimes it does a single wipe/ pause /wipe like it should and other times it does 2 or 3 wipes / pause / wipe.

It appears to be very random, some days it works fine - other days it happens a lot. Could this be a relay problem. Is it a cheap DIY repair?

Any input would be gratefully received.

Hey Ninja,
Well, My 2002 MCS did that at about 42000 miles (erratic functioning wipers worked when they wanted to)...One day, the wipers just stopped working...so they had to replace the motor...Luckily the car was still under warranty
I took the car in on a Sat, and got it back on the following Wednesday (they [dealer]said it was a hard part to get to.)
As for a DIY repair, I'm not sure, but I think that the Bentley's manual has something on it, get a Bentley Manual if you don't already have one...
Best of luck..
