HELP! Need new MCS engine. Can anyone help?

Long story short, I need a new engine for my 03 MCS. A factory rebuilt is $4700, and the junkyards around here want almost that much from a totalled MCS. Does anyone have any leads on any MCS engines? NAM has been great in the past and I'm hoping that someone here knows of a wrecked MCS somewhere with an engine that won't cost all of my savings.

The only good side to this is that if anyone's interested, MINITOR will probably be for sale as soon as the new engine is in. It will also have new brakes, and 80k miles. See my cardomain page (in signature) for a list of all mods. I don't know the exact price yet, but will figure it out soon. It will be what I owe plus the cost of the new engine. I'm not looking for any profit, just to get out even. If I don't get any offers after I post it with a price, I guess I will keep it. I'll let fate decide.

I know that Victor from MINI Works was selling a block with a bottom end that needed bearings for like $300(?) I don't know what's wrong with yours, but if the crank and rods are good in Victor's just replace the bearings and swap all your stuff to that one.

I work at Advance Auto Parts and we have a salvage parts program. I did see a MCS motor on there, from a junk yard, for about that price so that much from a dealer is not out of question, IMO.

Found one for $2500 shipped with 23k miles, don't think I'm gonna beat that one unfortunately.
