Anyone ever had this problem?
I have an '06 MINI (hot orange by the way, got Beaker in November), and yesterday started getting a problem. I would get a pop/click noise and then my front speakers would stop working. Then they would come back on, then the noise again and go out. There doesn't seem to be any consistancy to the off and on, sometimes seconds, sometimes minutes (all the while the back speakers continue to work), always while driving (never when stopped at a light or anything), but don't seem to correspond with bumps or anything. I turned the radio off and I still hear the pop/click noise. I assume something's loose, but man its incredibly frustrating! Any ideas or similar experiences? I've contact a dealer to get it looked at...

Also, sounds like grounding. A wire somewhere in your system is touching something it shouldnt be.

 

I had this problem with the lower front speakers on my HK system. It did what you described and then got to the point where the speakers would always be off, kick on for a few seconds and cut back out. The dealer replaced the 2 speakers this was happening with under warranty and it hasnt happened since.
