RESOLVED: Headlight Washer Problem...

On the way home from work, I had the need to wash my windshield. When I did, I noticed that the headlight washers acted funny....too much fluid on one side, and none on the other side.

I stopped at a store and activated the washers again and ran around to the front....

Both washers popped out.
The Passenger side GUSHED out a blob of fluid twice
the driver's side didn't spray anything

I opened the bonnet and manually extended the headlight washers. On the passenger side washer, there was an oblong soft rubber plug just before the nozzles that had a bare metal spring sticking straight up. I couldn't see a similar feature on the driver's side washer.

It seems to me that some piece popped off and exposed this spring.

Has anyone else seen this problem? I have 45K miles, so I'm still covered, but if it's something I can just pop on; I'd rather fix it than drive all the way to Atlanta.

I took the car down to Global Imports and they replaced the entire passenger side headlight! I did some research on Realoem.com, and the washers ARE a separate part, but they replaced the whole headlight anyway. They told me that they wanted to make sure that everything was as shipshape as possible since I was almost out of warranty.

No doubt about it....ALL 5's!
