Maintenance warranty question
Maintenance warranty question
Hello,
I know that my '04 has a 50k warranty. I believe that during the first 30k miles that all maintenance is free. (or is is 36k?)
Question:
My car is nearing 30k miles...... but it still says 7000+ miles till next service date. What do I need to do to have all the wear items replaced, and the oil changed if I surpass the 30k miles before my service indicator says to schedule an appointment?
BTW, my dealer is about 100 miles away.
thanks
Donald

Make a List and Write a Business Letter
When my car was getting close to 50K, I made a list based on the posts on this board. I had about 25 items that I wanted serviced on my list. The dealer went through some of the items, and for some there really was no fix.
They worked on the car for about 8 hours, and I waited the entire day there. I had brakes done, new glove box, muffler harness, new grills, both window motors, and I bet the cost if I had paid out of pocket would have been about 4 grand!
Still a door lock has failed 6 months following the servicing, but at least MINI didn't take huge advantage of me. Their policy is to ignore service work unless the customer brings it to their attention.
Good luck! Write a business letter to them itemizing the work you want performed, and then take the day off and sit there.
