Programmable options with late 2006 MCS
Programmable options with late 2006 MCS
I just picked up a new 2006 MCS (built mid-october) and the dealer told me that their SSS programming tool would only program a few choices.
for example the follow me home lights option that used to be able to be programmed in about 6 options from 30, 60, 90, 120, 180 240 seconds only had one option for my car, off, or 40 seconds...
did the programming options radically change at the end of 2006.
I doubt it, but need someone that got a car around the same period to help me figure out if I can have these options programmed by someone more knowledgable....
Thanks in advance

I know that at least some of the options changed. In addition to the "follow me home" timing change that you noted, I also couldn't get the "Selective Central Unlocking" programmed on my September 2006-build MCSC. Selective Central Unlocking is where you decide whether the first press on the remote will unlock only the driver's door, or unlock both doors and the boot. I wanted the first press to unlock all three, but that's no longer an option. I don't know when the production-date cutoff is, though.
Thanks riquiscott for the feedback....
Argh!! I also want the central unlocking one click does it all....
thanks for the info

i have this same question does anyone know where we could get a complete list? my dealer told me these:

-Active Day Time running lights or not active
-Pathway lighting (driving lights remain on for selected amount of time after high beam switch is activated momentarily with the ignition turned off)
These can stay on for 40 seconds 90 seconds 150 seconds or 240 seconds or they can be inactive as well.
-Central locking automatic locking after exceeding 10 miles per hour
- Selective Central lighting (first touch unlocks all doors and the trunk)
- Convenience opening (sunroof and windows opening at holding the unlock button)
hope that helps

I think that's a portion of the "old" options. The Pathway Lighting is now limited to 40 seconds on the newer cars, and the Selective Central Locking is no longer available.
It might be better to ask the techs at your dealership to see if they have the most-recent list.

It still wouldn't hurt to talk to one of the techs that actually programs the car. My MA only found out about the change to the Pathway Lighting timer back in October, and the Service Manager didn't even know that Selective Central Locking was no longer an option until they actually tried programming it on my car earlier this month.
I still haven't seen an "official" list of the programmable options that reflects the most-recent changes.
