paint flaking on bumper...

I saw that someone posted that the paint on their roof flaked pretty bad. Has anyone had their paint flake on the rest of the body of the car? My paint is flaking on the rear bumper, on the edge of the painted body and the plastic panel. And this is now starting to happen on the other side.Does MINI usually cover this? I wash and wax regularly, and I dont use any abrasive materials. Here are some pics...

I have it on my front bumper, around the turn signal. Haven't brought it up with the service department yet. Let me know if you do.

You guys should take it in to service as soon as possible - when I've heard of this type of thing happening with BMWs it was often due to the car being repaired/painted at the VPC after they were offloaded from the boats (I assume it was from damage that happened during shipping). Dealers have also been known to repaint cars that get damaged there and still sell as new. In any case, do get it looked at - best of luck.

Just an update...

Talked to my SA, and he said that it definitely looked like a paint defect. He actually saw some more flaking and wrinkling than I had originally seen. So he needs to take some digital pics of it and send it to the VSC(?), who I think is the regional service rep. Once they ok it (they better), they will repaint my rear bumper under warranty.

I will post more info when I receive it.

Well, good news sports fans... I am going to pick up my car on Saturday and they didnt repaint the bumper, they replaced it with a factory painted new bumper. Of course I will have to see it for myself, but it only took a good 3 1/2 weeks for a new windshield and bumper. Talk about speedy service . And at least they gave me a loaner...
