Speaking of Power Steering

My power steering pump (2002) didn't catch flame, but it did burn out. I replaced it on my own, but the power steering didn't come back. Yes, I put new fluid in. Yes, it's connected properly. Is there something else I'm missing? Thanks.

check the connectors for any corrosion, i have seen a couple of cars where the connectors were completely rusted-not making contact.

besides that check the tie rod boots and feel for any fluid inside of them which points to a leaking rack.
hopefully is the connectors and not the rack. good luck!
