That's a Light Clutch

I was able to inspect the clutch plate after it was replaced recently and frankly, I was shocked at how light that carbon clutch plate is. I raced a Formula Ford with a 7 1/4" AP racing clutch and that clutch was not much lighter than the Mini's. The Mini has a true sports clutch. I believe Mini (Getrag) has really pushed the envelope on the clutch and this is resulting in that noise issue many owners have experienced. The clutch doesn't look like a piece that was meant for every day driving. I would be curious to know how many other cars on the street have such light weight carbon clutches.

Anyone form Getrag or Mini have a thought on this???
