bad stuff happening to my mini please help

so after installing my alta light bar my car has a few issues. all my lights work except my headlights. my auto a/c is not turning on at all. my tach, speedo, and gas gauge don't work but my obc is working so i can see the digital readouts. i did both software resets and still nothing.

if anyone has any ideas i'd love to not have to visit the dealer for this

i did not wire the driving lights just bolted them up

Have you checked fuses?

If all you did was mount the Altas and made no electrical connections, your problems are unlikely to be related to the Alta mounting, so don't be afraid to take it to the dealer.

When you disconnected the Fogs and marker lamps to remove the bumper skin, did you reconnect everything properly?

Recheck the fuses. There are 2 fuse panels (kickpanel and under hood) as well as several independent fuses. Check your owner's manual.

Welcome to MINI ownership. These sorts of things will happen on a regular basis.

How about disconnecting the battery for a while? If you do end up at the dealer, I suggest unbolting the light bar before going, even if it was never wired.

This thread reminded me that I don't have any spares (fuses). Better add that to the shopping list.

There is four extra fuses in the interior fuse box. Apparently there is also a fuse tweezers in there too.

Thanks for the tip. The good news is in four years I haven't had a reason to learn that. [knock wood]
