colored strips on intercooler?

ive noticed a lot of people have coloured strips on either end of their intercoolers. I believe two on either end. what is the purpose of these aside from bling?

It looks like theyve replaced the black rubber pieces with colored ones, but is there anything more to it ?

These are silicone IC boots...

they replace the rubber ones. They may be smoother inside than the rubber, resulting in slightly improved flow dynamics. No one has any numbers on this.

nope thats pretty much it.. with the exception for mine. Since im running the GTT IC which is a floating design i needed the silicone one which are stiffer to help prevent colapsing which caused the IC to pop off.
