2 Questions, 1 with steptronic, 1 reg auto wipers

Hello.

Is it safe to drive the car while it's in Step mode and just let it shift on it's own? I notice that the car will "haul behind" when it's in that mode, but i'm not sure if it's good for the transmission. it tends to red line when it shifts gears

2nd question
I have the auto wipers, and I have to push the switch to 0 then back to 1 (auto mode) to get the wipers to come on when it rains, otherwise they won't come on. is that normal? or am I missing something?

thanks folks

mike

I can only answer your second question.

Yes - that is normal. It is meant to keep your wipers from coming
on inadvertently ( such as in an auto car wash ).

1. When the car is in Sport Mods (SP) it just holds the gears longer. So if you keep your foot in it the car will shift @ redline. Its probaly safe to drive like this but it will not get good mpg.

2. My Auto wipers do the same thing. Its an odd part of the "auto function". Even when sitting in the auto setting.
