Window Help Needed

Hi All. I have a 2006 mini S that has let me down. The window has stuck in the full down position. I tried the "bump it" on the motor trick to no avail. My dealer says they can't get me in for 1 MONTH. Funny he didn't wait to take my money. Any way, I have removed the door panel with the hope of at least setting the window in the up position so it can be driven while waiting however the window will not budge. So my questions.
1) If the window motor goes bad, is it normal for it to restrict the window from moving manually?
2) If so is there an easy way to dismantle the motors control on the cables so that it can be forced into the closed position?
Thanks in advance for your wise advise.

while holding the switch in the up position tap on the window motor . as far as taking the window off of the regulator and sliding it up there should be 2 bolts holding the window to the regulator just take them off slide window up and brace it with a piece of wood until service can get you in. a month for a stuck down window is crazy. did you explain to them it's stuck down if so it's time to find another dealer.

What he said. Also check the electrical connection. Try using the key in the door lock hold in the lock position. All this is assuming you have already checked the fuse, each window has a seperate fuse 30amp. Taking the window regulator off is not an easy task.

Is there any noise from motor when operating the switch? Either a click from the motor while pressing the switch up or down or a grinding noise from the regulator?

Replace Motors & Switches

I had both motors and switches replaced last month. MINIs are notorious for the flaw.
