coolant temp sensor location

Can someone clue me in as to the location of the water temp sensor for a 2003 Mini? Radiator fan has stopped working. Checked the easy stuff, fuses etc. Hoping for a defective sensor rather than a fan.

thanks a lot

well, there was certainly a LOT of info there, I think I looked at every diagram and parts list, but still can't find that darned sensor.. I found such a part listed on some other site and saw a picture of it, it looked like it screwed into the engine block, but I can't find it on this Mini...

any other suggestions/ ideas ?

Try the right end of the cylinder head. (I suppose that would be the rear of the cylinder head.)

Did you check both fuses in the engine bay fuse/relay panel? (FL9 50 amp & FO5 5 amp)

The low speed relay..same panel (F 2nd from front of car) can be switched with the heating & ac blower relay (D 4th from front) The high speed fan relay is unfortunately mounted with the fan.

I gather you tried running the ac which makes the fan run.
