What kind of oil filters ya'll buy?
Hey, hey, hey!
I've been changing my own oil for the first two, but I have yet to change the filter. I know I can pick one up from the dealer, but do ya'll have any info?
Does Fram make one for our car? If not them, who do you recommend? Do you know of a sweet hook up?
Man, I sure hope so. Cause I want to do this sooner rather than later. Be well and don't punch anyone in the face.

Advance Auto Parts is supposed to carry one that's made by Purolator. I haven't gotten one yet to see if they have them stocked. I don't believe Fram makes one, which is good, because Fram filters are junk!!. If you do a search on oil filters in this category, there is a listing for a website that rates filters and that's the word on Fram.
>>The Purolator # is L15465. I'll be changing mine soon at 5k, been in since Nov. i will report on its condition Filter
After all the debate and discussion about the oil change intervals, I've finally decided to go with 7.5K intervals. I think this is a nice, happy medium and will fit well with the 15K intervals (after the initial 10K, they are 15k) that MINI uses.
I will probably be using Mobile 1, because it's a decent price at Costco. However, I'm still considering Amsoil...
Back to the topic at hand.... I'll be curious to hear more about the OEM filter vs. aftermarket. Since the price is almost the same (at least at my dealership), it is just as easy to purchase OEM filters when you go in for service - just add a filter or two to the tab. Now, the question boils down to quality... I sure wish there was a good standard to easily rate oil filter quality. I know of no objective, standardized method for testing filter quality. Sheer reputation doesn't cut it with me either.

Well I don't know how effective the media is, but when I took mine apart (to inspect) it was a PITA! Very tough little filter.
