SES light options

Hey guys , iam new to the forum and just got my mini about a month ago and i just hit 3k miles, I started the car yesterday and got a service engine soon light -i am starting to hear this is a fairly common O2 sensor but just wanted to confirm this happens with 6 speed manuals as well -I saw a few posts for the automatics -thanks -Terry -'06 hyper blue cooper s in miami-T ps i have my appt at the dealer next thursday -

It's kinda weird to have the SES going on with so few miles. Could be bad gas, but there is really no way to tell without a code reader. Best bet would be to keep your appointment for next week. Way too early for a 02 sensor, mine haven't gone yet.

Check and make sure the gas cap is tightened all the way, sometimes that will thow a code, if so it should go out in three or four cycles.
