Cruise control adjustment?

Is there an adjustment for the cruise control? It seem that there is insufficient throttle opening when going up hills (I'm not talking mountains here!). The car slows but I can make up for the loss of speed with more pedal. Furthermore, it's more than able to maintain speed without downshifting as long as I intervene manually. Is there an adjustment here? Clogged vacuum line? Something else? Thanks in advance for any insight!

I've always known cruse controls to have that issue, the I druve the MINI and up some mountains and it never vareied 1 MPH up or down (also had CCs runaway downhill); so I'm actually suprised to hear this.

This has been an issue for quite a few people, myself included.

It depends on what software version you have. I think early '05 is when MINI finally released updated cruise software, so if you have an earlier year MINI, go get the latest software from the dealer and the cruise will behave much better. It's still crappy cruise, but it's vastly better than before!

My cruise control also has this annoying problem, but I think it's still better than not having any cruise control at all...

On flat roads, it's great, but on uphills, it loses some speed. (around 5-10 km/h) before the cruise control starts to give more throttle...
