My new "MyMiniParts" Intake

Woo hoo.

From www.myminiparts.com, similar to Webb Motor Sports' HDI (High Density Intake), about the same price ($207 shipped).
I like the fact that this intake is sealed from the engine and has an wide open rear panel.
The foam ITG filter really opens up the airflow - this sucker whines way louder than the K&N intake I had previously and from what the butt dyno tells me, I'm getting some smoother throttle response.

This unit uses the stock hoses to the throttle body and from the front to draw cool air to the intake. I must have misplaced the male/male 1/2" hose extension piece ($1.55 part from the dealer) but lucky for me I finally found one @ Pepboys last night.

Woo hoo.

I didn't take any pics yet, but the car is way smoother.

You know just the other day I noticed that the Helix intake has the same rear panel (if it's not exactly the same then it is a darn close replica). Perhaps they are getting the rear panel from the same manufacturer.

But it would seem that the front and left side panesl are slightly different since you have the two holes for the top. I don't see why Helix would have used the same material and not used the two holes to screw down a top to seal the intake.

The ITG filter sells for $80 and is a pretty nifty unit - very well made.

Now I just have to get my hands on a cleaner/recharger kit for this filter.....

Yeah, I'm already recommending this intake to anyone who is looking for one.

And a bit more feedback - I have the UUC exhaust which was overpowering my K&N intake to the point where all I heard was the exhaust.

This Mymini intake is so much louder that I can actually hear the intake again and the drone seems to be gone!

Love that supercharger whine...
