DSC too sensitive?

Is there way to de-sensitize the DSC? I feel the engine is broken in pretty good now with 7000 miles and I'm trying to take off hard at stops. Everytime, I try to launch in 1st gear the car Bog. This is really enoying. So I turn DSC off and then I spin my tires too much. I talked to SA and they tell me it's normal. I had other high perormance cars before but this DSC is way too sensitive. Any Help?

yup, our DSC is pretty darn sensitive. Unfortunately your only stock option is to turn off the DSC and practice some throttle control when the tires start spinning. A couple non stock options would inlcude getting stickier tires (don't know if you still have the run flats or not) and some ECU tweaking to desensitize the DSC setting. MTH has this as part of their ECU flash and it works pretty good.

You have to get the ECU reprogrammed. Most MINI performance tuning shops should be able to do this, but definitely not the dealership! Also, please note though that it's the traction control, not DSC that's kicking in. They just happen to share the same disable switch and indicator light.

MTH gets rid of the annoying sensible traction control.

Every MTH files comes with the "DSC Mod".

Gee and I thought the JCW software improved it - sounds like its worse. Do you know if you have all the latest software - couldn't hurt to look into it. (By the way, Service Advisors will say many things are "normal" when they may not be...) See if you can test drive another JCW to compare, then take it from there.

Overall the DSC is not going to like "taking off hard" from a stop though - with or without DSC smooth throttle is the key IMHO.

Hi thanksf or some advises. How do I contact MTH and will it void my warranty? I did not try to compart to other JCW but normal MC and it did not have nay bogging problems. Let see if I can get a hold of JCW to try.

My car was with dealership with DSC/Chk engine light problem was was told oxygensensor was repaced and got ECU upgrade about 6months ago.
What version do I need to be on?

thanks again!
