Hello all, I'm fixing a 2004 Mini Cooper (non-S). It took a hit to the front end. One thing damaged is the water pump pulley. Can I get just a pulley anywhere? I don't want to buy a new pump (especially since I can apparently only get one at BMW since the parts stores don't have anything yet).

 

Judging by realoem diagrams, it appears that you can only get this part as a full assembly, however, it seems that even from the dealer, it's available as a reman part, so that could be a bit cheaper than an brand-new piece.

You might try a local import junk yard - or check on Mini2.com for breaker yards in the UK. But, if the hit was hard enough to break the pully it might have damaged the water pump also.


The motor is a Chrysler design - I don't know what else uses it ? but you might take the old pully to a NAPA or other large parts store and try and match it up to something??? I have had to do this with some of my large commercial trucks - once in a while you get lucky
