OBD P1681 SES light

I have an 05 MCS with 17,500 miles. Wife was doing her rounds at the schools this afternoon and the SES light came on. This evening I plugged in with the scanner and a P1861 came up. So I took it for a drive. Shut it off for an hour, restart, No SES Light. Something to do with inputs and outputs. I am just curious what was going on here. I searched a bit to no avail. Any ideas appreciated.

i would drive it as-is for a couple more weeks and see if it pops the
same code again. If so, i would take it in.

this car is not the most stable, so once in a while it throws DTC's for
no reason (or very minor reason).

Dragging up an old thread here. I got this code on my 2005 Cooper S today. Actually, my daughter got it. She is learning to drive on my manual transmission'd MINI. She managed to stall multiple times and was in the wrong gear quite a few. I suspect that would cause the engine computer to get rather confused.

I have a Scangauge II and simply reset the code.
