hi all,

this morning, my 05MCS seems to have developed several electrical faults:

1) passenger's side airbag and seatbelt lights are ON in the speedo display
even though there's nothing in the passenger's seat

2) pushing the button on the remote doesn't lock or unlock the vehicle

3) the rear lights stay on

any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated since i'm going on TDY
tomorrow. i can live w/ the first two problems but the third could
leave me w/ a dead battery.

#2: is this the key you have been using all along or the spare one? it could be that the battery inside the key fob needs recharging, which can be done by driving around w/ it in the ignition

 

i switched over from my other key about 2 weeks ago.
(3 months on/3 months off)
i'll try the other key when i get home tonight.

 

solved the problem when i got home.

i noticed on the way home that my ipod via the icelink+ was nolonger
available via the CDC.

pulled the dashboard apart and removed the icelink+.
immediately, the taillights (and LED third light) went out.
(note: these were lit even w/o the key being inserted)


after putting the dash back together and starting up the car,
the passenger airbag lights and seatbelt light went out
and the key fob works again.

i guess i'll be chatting w/ dension tech support when i get back from TDY.

anyone want to buy a slightly used dashboard version of the icelink+??
